Before 2023 comes to a close, Nike, Inc. will release the Kobe 4 “Black Mamba” Protro on December 27th. The pair is the 18th posthumous release from the Kobe Brand and is one part of the larger “Gift of Mamba” collection. Prepped as part of Nike Basketball’s Holiday 2023 lineup, the sneaker and apparel offerings feature “Triple-Black” makeovers, hence the “Black Mamba” nickname. Although the basketball shoes are the collection’s headlining piece, accompanying “Gift of Mama” tee and Destroyer jacket also contribute to Kobe Bryant’s legacy. The collection serves as a celebration of the Los Angeles Laker’s greatness, bringing attention not only to his “Black Mamba” alter-ego, but also his professional accolades and winning “Mamba Mentality.”

The Kobe 4 “Black Mamba” goes on sale via Nike SNKRS on Wednesday, December 27th, for $190 USD. The collection’s tee and Destroyer are priced at $50 and $824 USD, respectively. Nike will also reissue the Los Angeles Lakers City Edition jersey in Men’s ($120) and Big Kid’s ($90) sizing.
