This 990v3 celebrates Bodega’s 15th anniversary with a defiant message that they’re ‘Here To Stay’ – not that the likeable boutique had any intentions of leaving anytime soon. In their own words: ‘Once you make your mark on that blank space, it doesn’t matter if you planned it from the start, or the opportunity was just there. It’s here to stay.’The third generation 990, while still somewhat of a cult sneaker, has steadily moved into the limelight thanks to an ongoing series of high profile collaborations with the likes of Kith, Joe Freshgoods and, of course, Bodega, among others. The Boston collective treat the v3 to some tasteful tones of olive suede and tonal mesh, before inserting bright pops of blue and orange in more subtle areas. Callouts to the milestone can be found throughout on the heels, ‘2006’ and ‘2021’, plus co-branded insoles.
